How to Upload Your Signature for UPSC

1. Register on the UPSC One Time Registration (OTR) system at upsconline.nic.in by creating a new account.
2. Complete the OTR profile with personal details, educational qualifications, and upload your photograph and signature.
3. For the photograph, upload a JPEG file (2cm x 2.5cm at 300 DPI, 20-300KB) with a plain light/white background.
4. Upload your signature in JPEG format (2cm x 7cm, 10-40KB) signed with black ink on white paper.
5. When applying for CSE or other exams, the OTR images are auto-populated. Verify them before submitting the application.

Common Signature Mistakes to Avoid

• Uploading a photo that does not match the UPSC OTR specifications, which differ from SSC requirements in dimensions and file size limits.
• Using a photo older than 6 months, which UPSC may flag during the personality test (interview) stage.
• Not keeping a digital backup of the exact uploaded photo, which is needed again during the Mains application if the OTR system has issues.
• Uploading a signature with inconsistent style compared to what you will sign during the UPSC Mains exam and interview.
